Melegia is a sentient carnivorous plant native to the planet Pathos. She mainly resides in the blue jungle level, and for reasons we will get to later, practically is the blue jungle level. The reason why he was left unencountered was due to the player who had visited pathos, for some reason, not visiting that level at all.
It all started during the events in which Red had first ravaged Pathos. Spreading his flames everywhere, violently attacking the locals, and leaving behind Matango spawn as one last scourge upon that planet. Most foliage had died out due to this... with one exception. For you see, there was a patch of flora left behind that lived in close proximity to the matango caves. A set of carnivorous plants, to be specific. While she had typically only devoured smaller creatures, he had begun devouring matango more and more as a result of her being one of the few remaining wildlife. Despite this type of plant dying out within a year under normal circumstances, this one had only continued to grow and grow as the years go on. His leaves began spreading all throughout nearby them, creating smaller bits of herself to help devour bigger and bigger meals. Eventually, they even developed the capacity for thinking, feeling, and learning. Thus, Melegia, as we know him; was born.
Melegia does not pledge allegiance to any higher authority, as she has no higher aspirations beyond just staying home and eating all day. For example, Red had become aware of her evolution, setting out to "recruit" Melegia. However, She was not having any of it, and had released a bunch of itchy spores directly into Red's eyes. They were non-lethal and had no real danger of killing Red, but that was enough for him to steer clear of Melegia from then on. While she has the capability to evolve past his immobile form and travel elsewhere, she simply have no interest in doing so.
As mentioned previously, she has a close companionship with False light. This is because unlike most of False light's targets, he is non-organic; due to being a plant monster, she lacks a soul, the very thing False light seeks out. They were actually the reason why Melegia was able to hold her own against Red, as False Light had an encounter with him a couple weeks prior, and had the same resolution by simply throwing a bunch of magic dust into Red's eyeholes to make them itch like hell. Their relationship even goes as far as being symbiotic, as once False light retrieves the souls of its victims, they tend to save the corpse so it can be fed to Melegia.
